I’m turning 40 this year.
I’ve got big goals… in business, in life, physically… and if I’m being honest, it’s made me take a hard look at how I’m operating right now.
Not in a dramatic way.
Just… honest.
Because I see it all the time, not just in myself, but in a lot of the guys I work with.
On paper, things are good.
Career is solid.
Family is there.
You’re handling what you need to handle.
But something feels a little off.
Energy isn’t what it used to be.
Workouts are hit or miss.
Nutrition is kind of all over the place.
You know what to do… you’re just not consistently doing it.
And it’s not because you don’t care.
It’s usually because life got busy, priorities shifted, and somewhere along the way, your own standards got a little blurry.
That’s actually most of the guys who walk into Grit.
That’s really what it comes down to.
Not discipline.
Not knowledge.
Standards.
For me, that’s been the biggest anchor.
Everything I’ve built… strength, fitness, business… it’s not because I’m more motivated than anyone else.
It’s because there are a few things I’ve decided are just non-negotiable.
Not in a rigid, miserable way.
Just… decided.
I train.
I eat in a way that supports what I’m trying to do.
I move every day.
Some days are better than others, but those things don’t disappear when life gets busy.
Most guys don’t need a complete overhaul.
They don’t need a perfect program or some extreme reset.
They just need to get clear on a few baseline standards again.
The kind that actually fit their life right now.
That might look like:
- 3–4 intentional training sessions a week
- Protein at each meal, not perfection
- Getting to bed a little earlier more often
- Moving daily, even if it’s just a walk
Nothing crazy.
But done consistently, it changes a lot.
What I’ve found is once those basics are back in place, everything else starts to come back with it.
Energy improves.
You feel better in your body.
You show up a little sharper at work and at home.
Not because you went all in for 30 days…
but because you built something you can actually sustain.
If you’re getting close to 40, or already there, this is a good time to reset that baseline.
Not by doing more.
Just by tightening up what matters.
This is the work we do at Grit every week.
Not just giving workouts, but helping guys build a structure that actually works with their schedule, their stress, their life.
Something they don’t have to constantly think about or restart.
If that’s where you’re at… where things aren’t bad, but you know they could be better… it’s probably time to do something about it.
At Grit, we work with a lot of guys in this exact spot. Busy, capable, but just not operating at the level they know they should be physically.
We help them put structure back in place and keep it there.
If you want help with that, reach out and we’ll see if there’s a good fit to work together.
